On December 7th, the Redwood County Pheasants Forever teamed up with the Lamberton Fire Department to host the highly anticipated Gun, Diamond, and Cash Bingo event. Held at the Lamberton American Legion, the evening was a tremendous success, drawing a crowd of 150 enthusiastic participants eager to support three great causes while enjoying a night of fun and camaraderie.
Exciting Prizes and Generous Contributions
The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as attendees vied for incredible prizes, including six guns and a variety of cash and diamond-themed winnings. One lucky winner also took home a seventh gun through a special raffle, adding an extra layer of anticipation to the event. Beyond the thrill of the games, the event achieved an impressive milestone by generating over $5,000 in net income, which directly benefits the Lamberton Fire Department.
Supporting the Lamberton Fire Department
Community partnerships like this are the heart of what makes Redwood County special. The funds raised during this event will go a long way in supporting the Lamberton Fire Department's critical work. From purchasing essential equipment to enhancing training programs, the proceeds help ensure that these dedicated first responders have the resources they need to protect our communities effectively.
A Thrilling Pheasant Hunt
Earlier that day, Redwood County Pheasants Forever hosted a pheasant hunt that brought together 12 teams eager to make the most of the hunting season. The hunt was not only a fun competition but also contributed to a great cause. Participants donated 43 birds to the Sons of the American Legion for their upcoming annual wild game feed.
The competition was fierce, with the Swamp Bucks taking home two major titles: the longest tail and first place overall, boasting a cumulative tail feather length of 89.5 inches. The Haack team secured a close second place with a cumulative tail feather length of 88 inches. The camaraderie and sportsmanship on display made the hunt an unforgettable part of the day’s events.
PROTECTS: A Partner in Public Safety
Adding to the evening's impact, representatives from PROTECTS were on-site, offering their 2025 calendars for sale. PROTECTS, a non-profit subsidiary of the Redwood Area Communities Foundation, provides vital financial support to law enforcement agencies in the Redwood area. Their contributions go beyond annual budgets, funding officer training, specialized equipment, canine units, and team support. Their presence at the event underscored the collective effort of local organizations working together to strengthen public safety and community well-being.
A Community United
The turnout and enthusiasm for the Gun, Diamond, and Cash Bingo event demonstrate the power of community collaboration. By coming together for a common cause, we not only enjoyed a fantastic evening but also made a tangible difference in supporting the organizations that protect and serve us every day.
