DESCRIPTION:Join us for our annual Youth Pheasant Hunt on Saturday October 31st\, 2020. This is a great opportunity for area youth to try pheasant hunting even if their parents/guardians are not hunters! \nWho Can Hunt and What Does It Cost?\nThere’s no cost to attend but registration is required! Register by calling Redwood County Pheasants Forever Board Member\, Jim Thalacker at 507-530-0554. Hunters will need to register by Thursday\, October 29th. \nYouth are welcome and encouraged to attend. Youth (ages 12-17) must provide valid Hunter’s Safety Certification. An adult partner is not required so if parents/guardians are not involved in hunting\, that’s no problem. Youth hunters will be supervised by seasoned adult hunters. \nLunch will be provided and trap shooting and sporting clays will also be available (shells and fees will be covered by Redwood County Pheasants Forever). \nWhat to Bring\nHave your own equipment? Great! Don’t have your own equipment? No problem – we can help outfit new hunters for this hunt. We truly appreciate your contributions and even through these challenging times\, have continued to support the conservation of pheasants\, quail and other wildlife as well as future sportsmen and women.  \nCOVID-19 has had an effect on everyone in our communities and our organization is no exception to that. Our work is supported by your contributions and in the past\, the majority of those contributions have come from events.  \nFor obvious reasons\, we were unable to host a number of our traditional events to the degree that we’re accustomed to. However\, we are very excited to announce our plans for hosting our 2021 Redwood County Pheasants Forever Banquet. It will be held in-person on September 11th\, 2021 at the Redwood Area Community Center. There will be limited seating available unless restrictions are lifted. SUMMARY:Redwood County Pheasants Forever Youth Hunt 2021
DESCRIPTION:The Redwood County Pheasants Forever board is excited to host another Youth Pheasant Hunt this year! Join us on Saturday\, October 30th at 8am in Redwood Falls\, MN. \nWho is the hunt for?\nThis hunt is available\, free of charge\, to not only the youth of our area but also new adult hunters. We want others to be able to experience the joys of the great outdoors and get a chance to see what hunting pheasants is all about. \nThis pheasant hunt is open to all youth ages 12-17 that have a valid Hunters Safety Certification. An adult partner is NOT required. \nHow does the hunt work?\nThe particpants will hunt in a group with some of our seasoned board members and volunteers. We will meet at the West Central Sanitation building on the West side of Redwood Falls\, MN to start our day. There\, we will have registration\, go through safety rules and give the participants an overview of our day. \nWe will hunt on private land (courtesy of a generous land owner – a big thank you to Bob Wetmore for allowing us to hunt on your land) in the morning and head over to the Redwood Sportsmen’s Club afterwards. Lunch will be provided at the Redwood Sportsmen’s Club for all participants courtesy of Redwood County Pheasants Forever. We will also have Trap Shooting available for participants with shells and fees covered by Redwood County Pheasants Forever. \nRequired Equipment\nDress in your hunting gear! We will hunt rain or shine. \nMinnesota pheasant hunters are required to wear at least one visible article of clothing above the waist that is blaze orange. This could be a hat\, jacket or hunting vest. Remember that more blaze orange will make you more visible to other hunters. Redwood County Pheasants Forever will be hosting our first-ever Women’s Pheasant Hunt this October. Whether you're a seasoned hunter or brand new to the sport\, this afternoon hunt is all about learning\, connecting\, and having fun in the field. \nWho Can Participate?\nThis hunt is free to attend and open to women of all ages who hold a valid Minnesota Hunter Safety Certificate. Whether you’ve hunted before or want to give it a try for the first time\, you’re welcome here. \nWhat to Expect\nWe’ll start the afternoon at Knott’s Corner in Lucan with check-in\, a brief safety overview\, and a rundown of the day’s schedule. \nParticipants will then head out in groups to hunt private land\, generously made available by a local landowner. Dogs and guides will be provided\, and our board members and volunteers will be there to help every step of the way. \nAfter the hunt\, we’ll return to Knott’s Corner for a warm meal and some good conversation. \nWhat to Bring\n\nDress in your hunting gear.
