Whether you’re a young hunter eager to get started or an adult who’s new to hunting and curious to give it a try\, this event is a great chance to get outside\, learn from experienced hunters\, and enjoy a fun day in the field. \nWho Can Participate?\nThis event is free and open to: \n\n\nYouth ages 12 to 17 who have a valid Minnesota Hunter Safety Certificate. No adult partner is required. \n\n\nYouth under age 12 who don’t yet have their Hunter Safety Certificate. We’ll pair these participants with a one-on-one mentor for a guided hunt. \n\n\nNew adult hunters who want to learn and experience pheasant hunting for the first time. \n\n\nIf you’re curious about pheasant hunting\, we’d love to have you join us. \nHow the Day Will Go\nWe’ll kick off the morning at Runnings in Redwood Falls with registration\, a safety talk\, and a quick overview of the day. \nParticipants will head out to private land (a huge thank-you to Bob Wetmore for letting us use his property) to hunt alongside our experienced board members and volunteers. \nAfter the hunt\, we’ll gather at the Redwood Sportsmen’s Club and enjoy lunch at Pizza Ranch in Redwood Falls\, provided by Redwood County Pheasants Forever. Trap shooting will be available afterward for those interested\, and we’ll cover all shells and shooting fees. \nWhat to Bring\nCome dressed for hunting\, rain or shine. \nMinnesota hunting regulations require at least one item of blaze orange above the waist\, like a hat\, vest\, or jacket. More orange is always better for visibility. \nBring your shotgun and shells. If you don’t have gear\, let us know ahead of time and we’ll do our best to help you out. \nHow to Sign Up\nRegistration is free. We’ll open registration once the date is set. Whether you’re a seasoned hunter or brand new to the sport\, this afternoon hunt is all about learning\, connecting\, and having fun in the field. \nWho Can Participate?\nThis hunt is free to attend and open to women of all ages who hold a valid Minnesota Hunter Safety Certificate. Whether you’ve hunted before or want to give it a try for the first time\, you’re welcome here. \nWhat to Expect\nWe’ll start the afternoon at Knott’s Corner in Lucan with check-in\, a brief safety overview\, and a rundown of the day’s schedule. Participants will then head out in groups to hunt private land\, generously made available by a local landowner. Dogs and guides will be provided\, and our board members and volunteers will be there to help every step of the way. After the hunt\, we’ll return to Knott’s Corner for a warm meal and some good conversation. \nWhat to Bring\n\nDress in your hunting gear. We’ll hunt rain or shine.\nMinnesota law requires at least one visible blaze orange item above the waist\, like a vest\, jacket\, or hat. The more\, the better.\nBring a shotgun and shells. Doors open at 5:00 PM\, and bingo begins at 7:00 PM.\nSupport Dale\nThis event is more than just a night out. It is an opportunity to come together for Dale following his recent cancer diagnosis and help ease the financial burden that often comes with treatment\, travel\, time away from work\, and other unexpected expenses. Most importantly\, it is a chance to show Dale and his family that they are surrounded by a caring community ready to stand beside them during this difficult time.\nWays to Donate\nThe evening will feature an exciting Gun & Diamond Bingo Benefit\, along with additional raffles and a silent auction\, giving attendees even more ways to participate and support the cause. Guests can also enjoy a pulled pork sandwich meal\, provided by The Roadhouse Bar & Grill.\nWhether you come for the bingo\, the raffles\, the meal\, or simply to show your support\, your presence will make a meaningful difference.
